Going to the movie theater and watching a movie is a very common hobby nowadays. The people like to sit together with others in the theater and enjoy good entertainment. A lot of movie theaters also offer 3D movies. These movies allow the viewer to feel like being part of the movie. One seems to be in the middle of everything not just standing outside watching.
A few years ago if one wanted to watch a 3D movie one needed to wear 3D glasses. It looked really ridiculous, but it was part of the fun watching a 3D movie. Sitting in the movie theater with popcorn in one hand, something to drink in the other and 3D glasses on the nose the movie could begin. A lot of older movies were transformed into 3D movies as well.
One can watch a ship colliding with an iceberg as if he was actually on the ship. Or one could watch a killer follow his victims and torture them as if he was right next to him. 3D made movies much more interesting and more and more people went to the movie theater to experience a 3D movie. One could get a fright easily while watching an exiting movie. One could actually feel like being a part of an exiting car chase or a wild ride on a roller coaster.
Nowadays new technology is available using which one does not need 3D glasses to watch a 3D movie. But the technology is still not really cheap and therefore not a lot of people have it. It is the same with movie theaters. A lot of movie theaters still use the old 3D technology and one still gets to wear 3D glasses. Many people still like the old technology because it reminds them of their youth and brings back funny memories. Nothing can be compared to sitting in the middle of strangers looking like a fool with 3D glasses. Therefore many people will miss them in the future when every movie theater has the new 3D technology and there is no more use for 3D glasses.
